Basketball Recap: Griffin Comes Up Short

After flying high against Howard Tech last Monday, Griffin came back down to earth. The Griffin Bears lost 64-44 to the Brunswick Pirates on Friday. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-10.

Brunswick's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Patrice Mungin, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakai Alston, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Griffin now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Brunswick, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Griffin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-24 loss against Bradwell Institute on the 28th. As for Brunswick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-43 defeat against North Paulding on the 28th.
