Basketball Recap: Mercer Island Comes Up Short

Mercer Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Inglemoor Vikings. The Islanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Mercer Island lost, don't look at Anna Marsh. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards. Marsh is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Elianna Weiss, who posted 12 points.

Mercer Island's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Inglemoor, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Mercer Island wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-39 win against Sammamish on the 31st. As for Inglemoor, they have also already played their next game, a 32-30 victory against Issaquah on the 1st.
