Softball Recap: Crestview Sets Scoring Season-High Against Allen East

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crestview). Everything went their way against the Allen East Mustangs on Monday as they made off with an 18-8 win. Considering the Knights have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Dakota Thornell was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, nine RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaci Gregory, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Crestview lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Crestview and bumps their season record up to 7-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Allen East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Crestview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-4 defeat against Bath on the 30th. As for Allen East, they have also already played their next match, an 11-7 loss against North Baltimore on the 29th.
