Basketball Recap: Luther Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from AJ Hattenhauer and Gavin Milligan

Luther lost against Community Christian back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Luther Lions fell to the Community Christian Royals 36-32. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Luther's loss came despite strong showings from Gavin Milligan and AJ Hattenhauer. Milligan dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards, while Hattenhauer posted eight points and five rebounds. The game was Milligan's fifth in a row with at least ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Luther and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for Community Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Luther has already played their next match (against Oklahoma Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Community Christian will square off against Wewoka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Community Christian is facing Wewoka at the right time seeing as Wewoka is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
