The Saugerties Sawyers will challenge the Beacon Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Saugerties took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Pine Plains get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Sawyers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Stefanie Cogswell, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Stafford, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beacon). Everything went their way against Liberty on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on three straight.
Kat Ruffy made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Ruffy was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Meg Nicholson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Aslyn Way was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
Beacon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Saugerties moved to 11-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Beacon, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.
Beacon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Saugerties hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. It's a different story for Beacon, though, as they've only averaged .250. Will they be able to contain Saugerties' hitters?
