Softball Recap: Newark Catholic Green Wave vs. Granville Blue Aces

After a string of three wins, Newark Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Granville Blue Aces by a score of 11-9. Newark Catholic has not had much luck with Granville recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Kylie Gibson was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Mary Snider, who went 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Newark Catholic lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. This was only their first loss (out of four games) when they post two or more home runs.

Newark Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Granville, their win bumped their record up to 21-3.

As for Granville, they will head out on the road to challenge Zanesville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Granville is facing Zanesville at the right time seeing as Zanesville is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
