Baseball Recap: Jackson Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, Jackson rose to the challenge on Saturday. They never let the North Creek Jaguars get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The Timberwolves have beaten the Jaguars the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Jaguars has come to flipping the script.

The result came thanks to Drew Pepin's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Quinten Johns, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Lucas Poindexter was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Jackson's victory bumped their record up to 18-7. As for North Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 16-9.

As of now, neither Jackson nor the Jaguars have any future games scheduled.
