Baseball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin was the 15-4 winner over Fenton when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Maroons fell just short of the Bison by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Maroons just can't catch a break and have now endured seven losses in a row.

Elgin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briar Dekarske, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18-1. As for Fenton, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-21.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elgin will face off against West Aurora at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fenton, they will challenge Ridgewood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
