Volleyball Recap: Overton Eagles vs. Amherst Broncos
If Overton was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Loomis on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the Amherst Broncos on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-1 loss two weeks ago.
While Overton was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-16, 25-22.
Gracen Hughes paced Overton's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hughes got some help from Kyla Elfgren and her 31 assists. Finally, Hughes was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.
