Softball Recap: Andover Comes Up Short

Andover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 21-2 to the Cuba-Rushford Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 on Saturday.

Andover's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Cuba-Rushford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Andover will face off against Avoca Central at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cuba-Rushford, they will square off against Fillmore at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
