Basketball Recap: Legacy Takes a Loss

Legacy lost against Eaglecrest back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lightning took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raptors.

Despite the loss, Legacy still got an impressive performance from Jaedon Ward, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 18 points. Ward has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Marcus Sias was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Demari Manns Davis had an outrageously good game for Eaglecrest as he shot 64% from the field en route to 25 points and six boards. What's more, Manns Davis also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Reece Brown, who posted 13 points.

Legacy's record now sits at 0-2. As for Eaglecrest, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Coming up, Legacy will take on Chatfield in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Eaglecrest, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-68 win against Denver South on the 6th.
