Basketball Recap: Dunwoody Comes Up Short

Dunwoody played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Woodward Academy War Eagles, falling 88-60. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-22.

Dunwoody lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brennan Smith, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Vanke, who posted ten points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodward Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zachary Foster, who went 9 of 15 en route to 25 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Foster a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarvis Hayes Jr., who went 8 for 14 on his way to 21 points and seven boards.

Dunwoody moved to 7-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Woodward Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Dunwoody didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-60 loss against Tri-Cities on the 9th. Woodward Academy has also already played their next game, a 67-56 victory against Decatur on the 13th.
