Baseball Recap: Cliffside Park Takes a Loss

Cliffside Park couldn't beat Teaneck on Friday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Raiders fell just short of the Highwaymen by a score of 10-8.

Matthew Padron was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Breidy Marine was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kayden Moeller, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Cliffside Park has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Teaneck, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.

Looking ahead, Cliffside Park is taking a road trip to square off against Lodi at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
