Basketball Recap: Sebastopol Comes Up Short

If Sebastopol was riding high fresh off their 56-32 takedown of French Camp Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bobcats lost 67-41 to the Pisgah Dragons on Thursday. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Pisgah's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zane Smith, who went 8-for-15 en route to 26 points along with five boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in shooting accuracy (53%). Another player making a difference was Luke Sanders, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 21 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds.

Sebastopol's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Pisgah, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Looking ahead, Sebastopol won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will be up against the Hornets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Pisgah, they and Florence will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
