Softball Game Preview: Fairview Apaches vs. Crestview Knights

The Fairview Apaches will head out to square off against the Crestview Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairview comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Things were looking good for Fairview after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Edgerton, falling 14-6. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Apaches' highest-scoring contest to date.

Meanwhile, Crestview lost 14-3 to Lincolnview on Thursday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Crestview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dakota Thornell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Lyric Temple also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Fairview's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Crestview, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Fairview couldn't quite get it done against Crestview when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 4-1. Can the Apaches avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
