Benjamin Russell took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Horseshoe Bend, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Generals on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since September 24, 2024.

Benjamin Russell was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-23, 15-12.

Ashtyn Dark and Holland Gamble certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Dark had nine digs, while Gamble had nine digs.

Benjamin Russell moved to 2-9 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Horseshoe Bend, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
