Basketball Recap: Kalob Runnels' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fannindel over Dodd City

After flying high against Greenville Christian last Tuesday, Fannindel came back down to earth. The Fannindel Falcons lost 57-34 to the Dodd City Hornets on Friday. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kalob Runnels, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds. The game was Runnels' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Terren Judkins, who earned ten points and five boards.

Fannindel has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Dodd City, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-18.

Fannindel has already played their next contest, a 59-49 loss against Ector on the 14th. As for Dodd City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-42 defeat against Miller Grove on the 14th.
