Soccer Game Preview: Southeast vs. Memorial

The Southeast Spartans will take on the Memorial Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southeast is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Southeast is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Carl Albert get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Give Southeast's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Memorial won against Will Rogers College on Tuesday with two goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Wednesday. The Chargers had just enough and edged out the Ropers 2-1. The win continues a trend for Memorial in their matchups with Will Rogers College: they've now won four in a row.

Southeast's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those four games. As for Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

Southeast suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Memorial when the teams last played back in April of 2017. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
