Volleyball Recap: Washington Huskies vs. Irvington Vikings
Washington was the 3-2 winner over Irvington when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Washington Huskies took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Irvington Vikings on Thursday.
While Washington had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 25-23.
Ethan White paced Washington's offense, picking up 19 kills. White got some help from Kevin Hsieh and his 41 assists. White was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.
Washington now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Irvington, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will face off against American at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Irvington, they will challenge Moreau Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Moreau Catholic will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Irvington surely won't give up without a fight.
