Basketball Game Preview: Valley View Cougars vs. Mid Valley Spartans

Valley View and Mid Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The two teams will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Valley View is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Friday, Valley View humbled Carbondale Area with a 56-21 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mid Valley entered their tilt with Lakeland on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 45-35 victory over the Chiefs.

Mid Valley's win came from a few key players Valley View will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jakob Lesher, who posted seven points along with seven boards and four blocks. Kaleik Cook was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Mid Valley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Valley View, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Valley View strolled past Mid Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 51-36. Will Valley View repeat their success, or does Mid Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
