Softball Game Preview: Springfield Spartans vs. Coventry Comets

The Springfield Spartans are taking a road trip to square off against the Coventry Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Springfield is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since March 27th on Monday. They came up short against Field, falling 10-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Spartans haven't been shut out since back in March.

Meanwhile, Coventry unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 15-5 to Field.

Coventry's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Springfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-7.

Springfield skirted past Coventry 3-1 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
