Basketball Recap: St. John Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

LaCrosse came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against St. John, but Emmett Delp wouldn't allow it. The St. John Tigers took down the LaCrosse Leopards 52-37 on Thursday thanks in part to Delp, who posted 24 points. His evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Several Leopards players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lee Holopirek, who earned nine points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradan Grumbein, who put up nine points and six boards.

St. John has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for LaCrosse, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

St. John will head out on the road to face off against Chase at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. John is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season. LaCrosse has already played their next game, a 68-39 defeat against Victoria on the 31st.
