Softball Recap: Shea Wins Going Away Against Paul Cuffee

Shea won the last time they faced Paul Cuffee and things went their way on Monday too. The Pawtucket blew past Paul Cuffee 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Pawtucket, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Taylor Kane was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. Kane was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Shea got a massive performance out of Genesis Morales, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ayana Lagos Perez, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Shea always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.

Shea's record now sits at 8-6. As for Paul Cuffee, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coming up, Shea will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Times Squared Academy at 6:00 p.m. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.77 runs per game on average), something the Pawtucket will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Paul Cuffee, they will head out to square off against Woonsocket at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
