Recap: American Patriots vs. West Broward Bobcats

The American Patriots waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 63-54 victory over West Broward. Given American's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while West Broward is ranked 412th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

American's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kennith Johnson, who scored 22 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Alexandre Brigitte was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

American's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for West Broward, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

American will be playing in front of their home fans against Everglades at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Broward, they will head out on the road to face off against South Broward at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Broward is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
