Basketball Recap: Miami-Yoder Victorious

Miami-Yoder hasn't had much luck on the road recently (they'd lost three straight ) but thanks in part to Mindy Quintana-Vazquez that streak is no more. The Buffaloes really took it to the Manzanola Bobcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-23 victory with plenty of help from Quintana-Vazquez, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 steals. Quintana-Vazquez is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Kragel, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 18 boards. She has become a key player for Miami-Yoder: the team is undefeated when she posts at least ten rebounds, but 2-4 otherwise.

Miami-Yoder's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Manzanola, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Looking ahead, Miami-Yoder will challenge Cotopaxi at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' defense has only allowed 25.5 points per game this season, so the Buffaloes' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Manzanola, they will take on Bethune at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
