Football Recap: Tom Bean Beats Whitewright for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tom Bean). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 69-6 win over the Whitewright Tigers. The victory was just business as usual for the Tomcats, who after five games remain undefeated this season.

Donnie Hooten continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 421 yards and six touchdowns while completing 92.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 46 yards and a pair of TDs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Tom Bean's leading receiver Brayden Bomar was Hooten's top target yet again, picking up 107 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Tom Bean didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dyson Farris and Chase Stratton. Another thorn in Whitewright's side was Tatum Hanson, who picked up a sack and made 23 total tackles.

Tom Bean's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Whitewright, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coincidentally, Tom Bean and Whitewright will both be playing Tioga the next time they take the field. The Tomcats will host the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
