Preview: Union Catholic Vikings vs. Oak Knoll Royals
The Union Catholic Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Oak Knoll Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Union Catholic is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Union Catholic suffered their closest loss since January 18th on Wednesday. They fell just short of Elizabeth by a score of 55-52. While losing is never fun, Union Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Elizabeth is ranked 85th).
Meanwhile, Oak Knoll came up short against Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Wednesday and fell 50-41.
Union Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Oak Knoll, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.
Union Catholic came up short against Oak Knoll in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 55-49. Can Union Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
