East Jordan took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Charlevoix, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Red Devils skirted past the Rayders 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Red Devils, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Ryder Malpass made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last five matchups. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brenden Aenis, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Korbyn Russell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

East Jordan's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.2 runs over those games. As for Charlevoix, they moved to 6-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
