Baseball Recap: Spanish River Comes Up Short

Spanish River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the American Heritage Stallions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stallions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 back in March.

Sean Beaulieu was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Spanish River's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for American Heritage, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-9.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Spanish River will square off against Boca Raton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for American Heritage, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Barron Collier at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in the Stallions' favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while the Cougars have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
