Recap: Ontario Warriors vs. Highland Fighting Scots
After losing to the Highland Fighting Scots the last time they met, the Ontario Warriors decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Ontario snuck past Highland with a 36-30 victory on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Ontario.
Highland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MaKaylee Merckling, who scored eight points along with two steals. Merckling hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Mullins, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Ontario's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Highland, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ontario will stay at home for another game and welcome Ashland at 7:15 p.m. on February 15th. Hopefully Ashland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Saturday. As for Highland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Danville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Danville will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Highland surely won't give up without a fight.
