Volleyball Game Preview: Trico Pioneers vs. Century Centurions

The Trico Pioneers will challenge the Century Centurions at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Trico is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.

If Zeigler-Royalton wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Trico, they should've done a better job of containing Greta Jones. The Pioneers came out on top against the Tornadoes by a score of 2-0 on Friday for which the team can thank Jones, who had 21 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 20 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Trico was: they took both sets by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-11.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Century had no problem doing just that on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars, sneaking past 2-1.

Century found their leader in sophomore Jaicey Edwards, who had 15 digs.

Trico's record is now 29-6. As for Century, their record now sits at 14-17.

Trico beat Century 2-0 in their previous matchup back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
