Softball Recap: Millbrook Beats Sanderson for Their Third Straight Win

Millbrook entered their tilt with Sanderson on Monday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Sanderson Spartans by a score of 15-11. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Emerson Myers made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Prather, who went 3-for-5 with six RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Aubrey Powell was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Millbrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Millbrook pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Sanderson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Millbrook wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-12 defeat against Green Level on the 12th. As for Sanderson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 loss against Cary on the 12th.
