The Hernando Leopards will venture away from home to square off against the Dunnellon Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hernando is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Monday just wasn't the day for Hernando's offense. They fell 4-0 to Crystal River on Monday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Leopards were not able to get on the board.

Kaitlyn Carter was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Hernando saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ariana Covell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dunnellon). They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Weeki Wachee on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Dunnellon let Aden Permar and Kasiyah Jones run wild. Permar went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Jones scored a run while going 2-for-3. Jones also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Taytym Simonsen, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Dunnellon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weeki Wachee struck out eight times.
This is the second loss in a row for Hernando and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Dunnellon, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Dunnellon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hernando hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350.
