Basketball Game Preview: Oak Harbor Rockets vs. Margaretta Polar Bears

Oak Harbor is 0-10 against Margaretta since December of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Oak Harbor Rockets will head out on the road to square off against the Margaretta Polar Bears at 7:15 p.m. Oak Harbor is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Thursday, Oak Harbor needed a bit of extra time to put away Maumee. They managed a 60-55 win over the Panthers. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Rockets were down 42-28 in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, Margaretta earned a 48-40 win over Vermilion on Friday. Given the Polar Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Sailors are ranked 478th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oak Harbor has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Margaretta, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

Oak Harbor took a serious blow against Margaretta in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 50-19. Can Oak Harbor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
