Recap: Harper Woods Pioneers vs. Detroit Country Day Yellowjackets
After flying high against the Oak Park Knights on Tuesday, the Harper Woods Pioneers came back down to earth. Harper Woods was dealt a 85-35 defeat at the hands of Detroit Country Day on Thursday.
Detroit Country Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaidyn Elam led the charge by scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Cece Arico, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Harper Woods' loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Detroit Country Day, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Harper Woods will be home for the holidays to greet River Rouge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Detroit Country Day will take on Edison Academy in a holiday battle at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday at.
