Volleyball Recap: Splendora Wildcats vs. Bridge City Cardinals
Splendora lost against Bridge City back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Splendora Wildcats fell just short of the Bridge City Cardinals by a score of 3-2. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Splendora wouldn't go down easily and took Bridge City into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking 12-point loss. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-19, 25-21, 21-25, 15-3.
Despite the defeat, Splendora saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Morgan Johnson had 14 digs. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in the last 11 games she's played.
Bridge City can attribute much of their success to Kaylee Britten, who had 16 digs.
Splendora's loss dropped their record down to 23-11. As for Bridge City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 27-14.
Splendora wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Lake Creek on the 5th. Bridge City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
