Basketball Recap: Beamer Triumphs

On Thursday, in a tight match that could have gone either way, the Beamer Titans made off with a 55-54 win over the Lindbergh Eagles. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Eagles are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Terrence Whiting, who went 9 for 19 on his way to 26 points. The game was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Timaje' Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points and ten boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Beamer and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Lindbergh, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Beamer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-46 win against Kentridge on the 26th. As for Lindbergh, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-52 defeat against Kennedy Catholic on the 28th.
