Basketball Recap: Mancos Triumphs

Mancos won the last time they faced Dolores, and Tinsley Aspromonte did her part to make sure it happened again. The Mancos Bluejays snuck past the Dolores Bears with a 29-25 win on Friday thanks in part to Aspromonte, who posted 13 points and eight steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Mancos' points.

Dolores lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Taylor Erautt, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Erautt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Erautt, who earned four points and six rebounds.

Mancos' record is now 2-8. As for Dolores, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-8.

Mancos will venture away from home to challenge Bayfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dolores, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 0-0 victory against Ouray on the 18th.
