Basketball Game Preview: Soda Springs Cardinals vs. Orofino Maniacs

The Soda Springs Cardinals and the Orofino Maniacs will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Soda Springs has given up an average of 49.8 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Soda Springs heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They fell just short of The Ambrose School by a score of 56-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cardinals have suffered since December 20, 2024.

Meanwhile, Orofino unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 67-47 to Declo. While losing is never fun, the Maniacs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Hornets are ranked ninth).

This is the second loss in a row for Soda Springs and nudges their season record down to 14-11. As for Orofino, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
