Baseball Recap: Lamar Victorious

Lamar is still undefeated this season after their game against Columbia Academy on Tuesday, but Columbia Academy came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Raiders came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Cougars.

Jackson Whitcomb was excellent, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Chase Putman, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Lamar's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Columbia Academy, they moved to 5-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Lamar has already played their next matchup, a 9-2 victory against Enterprise on the 28th. As for Columbia Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-7 loss against Hoover on the 26th.
