Basketball Recap: Austin Victorious

Columbus East came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Austin, but Brynn Owens wouldn't allow it. The Eagles took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 69-38 win over the Olympians for which the team can thank Owens, who shot 50% from the field en route to 32 points along with seven assists and six boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Austin's points.

Austin's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Columbus East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Austin has already played their next matchup, a 72-44 win against Hauser on the 27th. As for Columbus East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-43 victory against Greenwood Christian Academy on the 27th.
