The Woodland Beavers are taking a road trip to take on the Ridgefield Spudders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.3 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Woodland after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Columbia River by a score of 6-5.

Madison Walker was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ainsleigh Utter, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Ridgefield's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 5-2 to Mark Morris. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Spudders couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ridgefield suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 12-3. As for Woodland, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Woodland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .469. However, it's not like Ridgefield struggles in that department as they've averaged .509. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Woodland skirted past Ridgefield 8-7 when the teams last played on April 14th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
