Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Calvary Christian Academy and Central Florida Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Calvary Christian Academy had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 59-13 loss at the hands of the Central Florida Christian Academy Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 58 points in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Central Florida Christian Academy was led to victory by Aarin Manuel and Arriah Denmark. Manuel went 6-for-10 to rack up 16 points, while Denmark dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards. What's more, Denmark also posted a 63% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Soraya Jokhan was another key player, going 6-for-12 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Calvary Christian Academy's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Central Florida Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-8.

Calvary Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Florida Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-42 win against North Tampa Christian Academy on the 18th.
