Basketball Game Preview: Countryside Cougars vs. Palm Harbor University Hurricanes

Countryside is 9-1 against Palm Harbor University since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Countryside Cougars will welcome the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes at 7:45 p.m. Countryside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.

Countryside is headed into Wednesday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Petersburg on Monday.

Countryside's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alyssa Wright, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 23 points in addition to six assists and five boards, and Julia Smith, who posted 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Wright's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Palm Harbor University over Largo in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Everything went Palm Harbor University's way against Largo as Palm Harbor University made off with a 62-42 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hurricanes.

Countryside's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Palm Harbor University, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Countryside beat Palm Harbor University 55-45 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Will Countryside repeat their success, or does Palm Harbor University have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
