Volleyball Recap: Frankfort Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Grace Myers and Jalen Smith

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Frankfort and Rossville, and Rossville kept the tradition alive. The Hot Dogs fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hot Dogs of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Frankfort actually scored more points across those five sets (106-105), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 21-25, 19-25, 15-13.

Despite the defeat, Frankfort had strong showings from Jalen Smith, who hit 60% for six kills and 47 assists and 20 digs, and Grace Myers, who had six digs and two aces. Smith has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more assists the last three times she's played.

Frankfort's loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Frankfort and Rossville will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Hot Dogs will face off against rival Southmont at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Rossville is set to square off against their familiar foe Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
