Baseball Recap: Orangewood Christian Has No Trouble Against First Academy

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Orangewood Christian walked away with it. Everything went their way against the First Academy Eagles on Monday as they made off with a 9-0 win. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Carson Balls was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Lambert, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Orangewood Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.

Orangewood Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for First Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Orangewood Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against First Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
