Recap: Arcanum Trojans vs. Houston Wildcats
The Arcanum Trojans came tearing into Saturday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 61-40 margin over Houston. Considering Arcanum has won three matches by more than 20 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Arcanum found their leader in underclassman Caroline Long, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Long continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Miller, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
Arcanum has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Houston, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arcanum will take on Tri-Village at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tri-Village will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Houston, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Jackson Center at 6:00 p.m. Jackson Center presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Houston in Ohio (Jackson Center is ranked 204th, while Houston is ranked 509th).
