Bakersfield Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 28-20 victory over the Faith Lutheran Crusaders on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 104th in California, while the Crusaders are ranked seventh in Nevada).

Leading Bakersfield Christian to victory were Lincoln Adame and Darriyon Page. Adame threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns, while Page rushed for 60 yards and one TD.

Another reason for the win was Bakersfield Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Faith Lutheran's QB won't forget Lee Arnez anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Bakersfield Christian received some extra help from Arnez, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

When it comes to explaining why Faith Lutheran lost, don't look at Justin Robbins. Despite the final result, he rushed for 135 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.

Faith Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
