Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Sealy's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Sealy won the last time they faced Stafford and things went their way on Friday too. The Sealy Tigers took down the Stafford Spartans 56-42. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while the Spartans are ranked 1020th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stafford's loss came despite strong showings from Mikya Williams and Deloni Hall. Williams went 7 of 10 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds, while Hall went 6 of 10 on her way to 15 points and three steals. Those 14 points gave Williams a new career-high.

Sealy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Stafford, they moved to 10-13 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Sealy will face off against Harmony School of Innovation at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stafford, they will challenge Almeta Crawford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
