Basketball Recap: Summit Academy Piles Up the Points Against Wendover

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Summit Academy's strategy against Wendover on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Summit Academy Bears blew the Wendover Wildcats out of the water with a 57-30 final score. The match marked the Bears' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Summit Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kita Holmes out in front who went 9 of 21 on her way to 23 points and seven rebounds. That's the most rebounds Holmes has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Orme, who shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Summit Academy pushed their record up to 3-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Wendover, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Summit Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-44 loss against Timpanogos on the 27th. As for Wendover, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-40 defeat against Kearns on the 27th.
